Jason joined our team in May of 2022 after being a Deputy District Attorney for thirteen years. Previously, Jason had represented the City and County of Denver in civil litigation as an Assistant City Attorney, was an Associate Attorney for Senter, Goldfarb and Rice, LLC and former law clerk to the Hon. Judge Enquist. As a Deputy District Attorney, Jason worked specifically with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, financial crime and sexual assaults on children. Jason has tried over 120 cases to a jury and litigated cases in state and federal courts. As part of a victim-centered practice, he handles a service dog certified by Assistance Dog International to assist victims. Jason volunteers with the United States MuayThai Federation as the Chair of Legal Affairs. In his free time Jason enjoys motorcycles, fly fishing, surfing, and camping. Jason holds a black belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kempo-Karate and is a certified Gracie Survival Tactics (defensive tactics for law enforcement) and IKFF kettlebell instructor who coaches regularly.
Rylan is a specially – trained service dog from Canine Companions for Independence (cci.org). He is certified through Assistance Dogs International as a facility dog to work with victims. As a facility or “courthouse dog” he has access to places dogs normally are not permitted. He has been with victims during their testimony in court, invisible to the jury, and he’s spent time with victims during difficult interviews. He is a constant source of calm and comfort to those who have experienced trauma from victimization.
